In Dec 2007, Nikt Wong from big Pictures Media was commissioned by Berlitz publishing to photograph the Berlitz Pocket Guide Phuket, a popular title in their award-winning Berlitz guide series.
Nikt spent a month in Phuket photographing beach life, local attractions, national parks and daily life in one of the most busiest holiday destinations in the world. He says that although Phuket has a ‘dirty’ reputation, it is endowed with amazingly beautiful and diversified attractions. It has everything for everyone, from turquoise waters and hedonistic activities to family attractions and ecotourism packages. (crowds aside, bottom line is…..its beautiful!)
Many may imagine that such work is fun and easy, but in reality, its just like any job – to do well you have to deliver quality work. Nikt says, he is always fighting with the weather and available light. Those are variables that will determine half the quality of work produced.
